NEW RANKINGS SYSTEM. How does it work?

USASlowPitch.com, a subsidiary of DRom.net, LLC, has drastically changed the point and ranking system going forward. In year's past, teams we're awarded an equal number of points in their division regardless of the number of teams. You'll find nearly all associations rank according to this method. Various bonuses are generally applied based on division and type of tournament (NIT, State, etc)

Starting in 2007, the USASlowPitch.com rankings will now take into consideration the number of teams in a tournament. Winning a 6-team tournament will no longer have the same value as winning a 20-team tournament. A proprietary formulation has been developed lowering or increasing total points based on teams in the tournament.

Bonuses will continue to be applied for division level and for type of tournament. The "E" division has been used as the "standard". A bonus will be applied for playing up a division.

Rec division = 0.75 multiple
E division = no multiple
D division = 1.5 multiple
C division = 2.0 multiple
B division = 2.5 multiple
A division = 3.0 multiple
MAJOR division = 3.5 multiple

Bonuses will also be applied for playing in various types of tournaments:
REGULAR & QUALIFIER - NO Bonus
OTHER (SPECIAL)- Bonus applied by a multiple of 1.1
NIT - Bonus applied by a multiple of 1.25
STATE - Bonus applied by a multiple of 1.5
REG. NATIONAL - Bonus applied by a multiple of 1.55
NATIONAL - Bonus applied by a multiple of 1.75
WORLDS - Bonus applied by a multiple of 2

Another side, is some independent org's will now be counted in our rankings system. These orgs, including A&V, AmCom, and PSTS will only be counting the top 3-4 finishers in their tournaments. We will continue to count COMPLETE results for ASA, USSSA, WSA and any other director that is willing to submit those results. Also, out of state teams and tournaments will be counted in our rankings as well. However, teams located OUTSIDE of Southern California will be be accrued in their state's rankings. Keep in mind, if you are a Southern California team, and you play in Las Vegas... as long as the director submits those results, that tournament will count towards our rankings.

Pending results by directors, we will also start tracking WOMEN & COED rankings as well. Be sure to contact your directors to let them know to get their results in! Please e-mail USASlowPitch.com with any feedback, comments or questions.
